De Kelders is the best natural land based whale watching area in the world for Southern Right Whales as they return to Walker Bay each year in greater numbers from July to December. Walk the elevated De Kelders cliff path and witness the whales playing with the kelp (seaweed), sailing, lobtailing, spyhopping, mating or breaching in Walker Bay. Gansbaai is known as the "Great White Shark capital of the world". Marebella is situated 3km from Gansbaai, in the Southern Overberg Region of the Western Cape of South Africa.
Located between Cape Town and the Garden Route, De Kelders is on the route to Cape Agulhas - the southern most tip of Africa. The Overberg is a region to the east of Cape Town along the Cape south coast. The boundaries of the Overberg are the Hottentots-Holland mountains in the west; the Riviersonderend Mountains in the North; the Atlantic and Indian Oceans in the South and the Breede River in the East.
